SUPPLEMENTAL REQUEST FOR AMENDMENT

. HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION DOCKET NO. 50-354 j
1 On; February.27, 1989,.Public Service Electric and Gas Company
'(PSE&G); submitted.an application to amend' Appendix A of Facility Operating; License No. NPF-57 in accordance with 10CFR50.90.
This amendment request was primarily' intended to add clarification and consistency to the refueling specifications with respect to reference measurements, load setpoints and travel limits.
An additional change conservatively raised the minimum allowable
-SourceLRange Monitor (SRM) count rate in Section 4.9.2 to agree with SRM requirements imposed elsewhere in the specifications.
I We have identified an additional footnote, in Section 3.3.7.6, Source Range Monitors, which permits a non-conservative minimum e
allowable SRM count rate and which, for consistency, should have been included in our February 27, 1989 amendment request.
Since this change is essentially the same change as described in our
.j
-previous request and is equally conservative, adding a more i
restrictive limit to the Technical Specification, the supporting information and analyses for the change, and the basis for a no significant hazards consideration determination previously j
provided apply.
PSE&G, therefore, believes that this proposed addition to our previously submitted amendment request does not add any new consideration that should require additional' review or public notice.
The affected Technical Specification page marked-up with the proposed additional revision is contained in Attachment 1.
