This letter refers to a routine safety inspection of activities authorized by
NRC license No. CPPR-95 by Mr. C. Conklin of this office on March 14-17, 1989
at your Shoreham Nuclear Power Station, Wading River, New York. Discussions
of our findings were presented by Mr. Conklin to Mr. William Steiger and other
members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selected examination of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were identified. No reply
to this letter is required.
