Dear Chairman Jackson,

As the Federal representative of Eastern Long Island, New York, I have receive inquiries from concerned residents about the National Regulatory Commission's consideration of the proposed restart of the Millstone 3 nuclear reactor.

Many Long Islanders live only a few miles from the Waterford, Connecticut Millsto Nuclear Power Station. At my recent town meetings, they expressed their dismay tha proposal has not taken into consideration their questions about safety and e should there be a problem or emergency during its operation.

Eastem Long Islanders deserve to know what NRC regulations will protect the event there is a reactor emergency at any of the Millstone Power Station's Nucl appropriate that the NRC provide them an opportunity to express their conc questions about emergency procedures in the event of malfunctions or emissions I respectfully request that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission hold a pub Eastem Long Island to inform us on the proposed restart of the Millstone 3 n vital that Eastem Long Islanders be heard on this issue, t

Your consideration is greatly appreciated and I anticipate your prompt favorable 61 : / s m r-
