SUBJECT: NRC INSPECTI0a REPORT N05. 50-321/89-12 AND 50-366/89-12
This refers to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) inspection conducted by
Messrs. J. E. Menning and R. A. Musser on June 24 - July 21,1989.
The
inspection included a review of activities authorized for your Hatch facility.
At the conclusion of the inspection, the findings were discussed with those
members of your staff identified in the enclosed Inspection Report.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report.
Within
these areas, tt'e inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures
and representa:ive records, interviews with personnel, and observation of
activities in progress.
The inspection findings indicate that certain activities appeared to violate
NRC requirements.
However, because all of the criteria for categorization of
licensee-identified violations were met, two violations are not being cited.
Therefore, no response to these violations is required. The details pertaining
to these licensee-identified non-cited violations are described in the enclosed
Inspection Report.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2,
Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and its enclosure
will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
