Chairman Jackson's Comments on SECY-98-015 l l approve the publication and use of RG 1.174 and SRP Chapter 19, as provided in L
Attachments 2 and 3, using the Federal Register announcement provkied as Attachment 1 to SECY-98-015. However, the staff should modify the documents as appropriate to address the Commission direction on the policy issues contained in SECY-97-287. .The staff should also perform a semiannual review of the RG and SRP, in light of experience gained using the documents, to determine if and when the documents should be revised.' This review should be tracked in the PRA Implementation Plan. The staff should pay particular attention to the acceptance limits of 1E-6 for CDF and 1E-7 for LERF to ensure that we are not allowing
. additional dominant accident sequences to contribute to the risk profile.
In the SRP Chapter 19, page 19-3, add the word " insights" at the end of the first sentence of the first paragraph.
