Fay Vice President Nuclear Power -231 West Michigan Street - P379 Milwaukee, WI 53201 Gentlemen: This letter regards:the ' routine safety inspection conducted by Messrs. C..L. Vanderniet, J. Gadzala,and R. J.' Leemon of'this office, from June 3 through July ~, 15, 1989, of activities at the Point Beach Nuclear Plant. Units l'and 2, authorized by NRC Operating Licens,es No. OPR-24 and No. DPR-27. Our findings were-discussed with Mr. J. J. Zach and members of his staff at. the conclusion-of the inspection. The enclosed copy of out. inspection report identifies areas examined during the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a. selective examination of procedures and representative records, observations, and interviews with personnel. In accordance with 10 CFR~2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
