The Chairman requested AEOD do a broad assessment of the effectiveness of NRC's incident Response function, with specific issues she expects to be addressed. We look
' forward to developing a prioritized plan to addressing this task; however, this activity is
.not currently planned nor funded. As a result, we need time to scope out the assignment, develop plans and schedules within current budget constraints and earlier mandates, and then get approval for what we plan to do'and not do. Bottom line is we owe a proposal to OEDO in a couple of weeks.' I propose to send forward a plan outline and schedule to OEDO by 4/3/98.
