YANKEE NUCLEAR POWER STATION-INSERVICE TEST PROGRAM, PUMPS' AND_ VALVES (TAC 65851)

By latter dated April 3,1989, we issued Generic Letter No. 89-04, " Guidance On Developing Acceptable Inservice Testing Programs." Generic letter No. 89 04 approves your, currently submitted IST program provided that.you (1) review your most recently submitted.IST program.and implementation procedures against the positions delineated in' Attachment 1 of the letter and (2) within 6 months of the date of. this letter confirm in writing your conformance with the stated positions.

'Due to the provisions of the Generic Letter the staff will not perform any further' review of your October 20, 1986. submittal regarding the pump and valve testing ~ program at Yankee Nuclear Power. Station.

.Our review to date has established that your current program.is in the third ten year interval that started on July 1,1981. Your plan is based on the 1977 ASME Code Edition through Summer 1978 Addenda. We'also understand that you don't plan any program updates prior to the expiration of_ the current interval nor do you have any interim reliefs in effect., Kindly inform us in your response to the Generic Letter if any of our information is incorrect.

This letter completes action under our TAC 65851.
