McGuire Nuclear Station Docket Noc. 50-369, 370 Generic Letter 95-07, " Pressure Locking and Thermal Binding of Safety-Related Power-Operated Gate Valves" On August 17, 1995, the NRC issued Generic Letter 95-07,
" Pressure Locking and Thermal Binding of Safety-Related Power-Operated Gate Valves," to request that licensees take actions to ensure that safety-related power-operated gate valves that are susceptible to pressure locking or thermal binding are capable of performing their safety functions.
McGuire plans to replace valves 1NI0009A and 1NI0010B during the Unit 1, Cycle 13 outage.
This replacement will eliminate the pressure locking concern. McGuire previously committed to modify these valves during the Unit 1, Cycle 12 outage.
