Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Units 2 and 3 Submittal of Revision 15 of the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report and Revision 10 of the Fire Protection Program
Dear Sir / Madam:
In accordance with 10CFR50.71(e)(4) and 10CFR50.4(b)(6), this letter submits one original and ten copies of Revision 15 of the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) and Revision 10 of the Fire Protection Program (FPP) for Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station (PBAPS), Units 2 and 3. The enclosed copies are being provided to the NRC with a page revision listing that identifies the latest revision date of all current pages in accordance with 10CFR50.71(e)(1). We have also provided page replacement instructions for incorporating Revision 15 into the UFSAR and Revision 10 into the FPP. As required by 10CFR50.71(e)(5), each replacement page contains a bold vertical line in the margin adjacent to each area changed along with the date of the change. Revision 15 of the UFSAR and Revision 10 of the FPP reflect changes made up to a maximum of six raonths prior to this submittal in accordance with the requirements of 10CFR50.71(e)(4). As a result, the UFSAR Revision 15 and FPP Revision 10 reflect changes made to PBAPS, Units 2 and 3, under the provision of 10CFR50.59 at least up to December 31,1997.
The enclosed UFSAR Revision 15 also contains a revision to the Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD) which is being submitted in accordance with l
10CFR50.54(a)(3). The revised QAPD (i.e., Appendix D of the UFSAR) reflects the l
transfer of responsibility from ANSI to ASTM for maintaining the standard for protective coatings applied to nuclear facilities. Replacing the commitment to Regulatory Guide 1.54 and ANSI N101.4-1972 with ASTM D3843-93 provides at least an equivalent level of commitment because the replacement standard meets or exceeds the existing standards.
