Subject: Inspection Report No. 50-271/89-15
This letter refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by R. A. McBrearty
of this office on August 21-25, 1989 at the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power
Corporation in Vernon, Vermont. Messrs. Chaudhary and McBrearty discussed the
findings of the inspection with Mr. J. Pelletier of your staff at the conclusion
of the inspection. The inspection focused on engineering activities in support-
of operations at the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power facility.
Areas examined duri.ng this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
