GENERIC LETTER 88-11, MI! LSTONE NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNIT N0. 1 (TAC N0. 71514)
Generic Letter 88-11 "NRC Position on Radiation Embrittlement of Reactor Vessel Materials and its Impact on Plant Operations," was issued on July 12, 1988. That generic letter requested licensees to use the methods described in Revision 2 to Regulatory Guide 1.99 to predict the effect of neutron radiation on reactor vessel materials, to submit the results of the technical analyses and, if necessary, a schedule of any proposed actions.
By letter dated November 1,1988, NNECO submitted the requested infonnation.
The NRC staff has evaluated your submittal for Millstone Unit I and finds it acceptable.
It should be noted that Amendment No. 9 to Facility Operating License DPR-21 for Millstone Unit I was issued on August 20, 1987. This amendment revised the pressure-temperature limit curves and were found to meet Regulatory Guide 1.99, Revision 2.
