Subject: Combined. Inspection Report Nos. 50-245/89-18, 50-336/89-18, and
50-423/89-15
This letter refers to the routine inspection conducted by Mr. W. Oliveira of
this office on August 7-11, 1989, at the Millstone Units 1, 2, and 3 in
"
Waterford Connecticut. Mr. W. Oliveira discussed the results of the
inspection with Mr. S. Scace of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selected examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspectors.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
Your
attention, however, is directed to paragraph 4.2 regarding the untimely
response to Quality Assurance audit findings.
You are requested to address
this concern and provide a response within thirty days of the date of this
letter.
The response requested by this letter is not subject to the clearance
procedures of the Office of Management and Budget as required by the Pape: work
Reduction Act of 1980, PL 96-511.
