'On June 26','1989,'TU Electric verbally notified the NRC of a deficiency involving-the manufacturing ~of:Borg Warner supplied check. valves. This is an interim report submitted on a potential!y reportable condition under the l provisions?of'10CFR50.55(e).
Specifica11y,-Service Water and Containment Spray Systems' check valves
. supplied by Borg Warner.have been reworked or-replaced due to swing arm failure or degradation.
Preliminary. analysis of the check valve internals indicate the presence of manufacturing defects.
Further._eva10ation is required to establish the safety significance and assess the. deportability of this issue.
Our next report will be submitted prior to fueliload for Unit 1.
