Dear Dr. Murleys 1
The purpose of this letter is to provide the Leak-Before-Break (LBB) evaluation.for carbon steel piping for Byron and Braidwood Stations. A meeting was held with members of your staff on May 3, 1989. During the
' meeting, Commonwealth Edison presented the LBB program for carbon steel piping systems that included the main steam line inside containment. The report-contained'in Attachment A provides the detailed evaluation.
Commonwealth Edison requests espproval of the LBB program for carbon steel piping.
