Generic Letter 82-33 requested Commonwealth Edison Company (Ceco) to provide a report to the NRC describing how the post-accident moni ering instrumentation Lmeets the guidelines of Regulatory Guide (RG)-1.97, Revisioi 3, as applied to emergency response facilities. CECO responded to the Generk Letter for Byron and Braidwood en February 27, 1984. LAdditional information wa provided by letters dated September 1,1987, December 28, 1987,'and July 27, 1988.
The enclosed Technical. Evaluation Report (TER) was prepared with the assistance of EG&G, Idaho, under cuntract with the NRC staff. TheTER-(Enclosure 2) provides the results of the staff and EG&G's review of the licensee's submittals in response to meeting the recommendations of Regulatory Guice 1.97, Revision 3.
The staff endorses the findings contained in the TER.
Based on these results, the staff concludes that you have provided an acceptable response with the exception of the four itams listed in the TER.
This TER imposes several additional requirements and some items. remain open pending the. staff's generic review. These items are discussed in detail in the staff's Safety Evaluation '(SER) (Enclosure 1) and in the TER. An t
