NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

Month: June 1989 McGuire Unit 1 began the month of June at 100% full power. On 6/21 at 0110 the unit reduced to 77% power per the Dispatcher and held there until 0502 on 6/21.

The unit reached 100% full power at 1022 on 6/21 and remained there until 6/30 at 1035 when the unit experienced a runback to approximately 30% power due to Digital-Electro Hydraulic Turbine Control System problems.

At 1343 on 6/30 the turbine was manually tripped for the same reason. The Reactor remained critical. The unit returned to service at 2225 the same day and ended the month increasing power to 100%.
