Docket Nos.'50-413 and 50-414 Reactor Vessel Pressure - Temperature Limits My letter of April.19, 1989 transmitted a proposed license amendment to revise Jheat-up and cool-down limitation curves for Catawba Unit 1 and Unit 2 Technical Specifications.
It has-since been discovered that an error was made regarding the material properties of;the reference weld.in the Westinghouse analysis. Westinghouse has provided revised heat'-up and cooldown curves and replacement pages to WCAP 11941
(
(See Attachment 1). We'are, therefore, submitting revised curves which have been l
adjusted for instrument error and contain minor labeling ~ changes.

As di cussed with you during our telecons of August 4, 1989 and August 8, attached are the revised pages of WCAP-11941 entitled, " Analysis of Capsule Z from the Duke Power Company Catawba Unit 2 Reactor Vessel Radiation Surveillance Program.
These revisions.to the heatup and cooldown curves are due to an inadvertent error.in our selection of material properties for the controlling reactor vessel material. The data points used to revise the heatup cooldown curves are also attached.
Please replace the attached pages in your copy of_ WCAP-11941.
