BRUNSWICK STEAM ELECTRIC PLANT, UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2 DOCKET NOS. 50-325 & 50-324/ LICENSE NOS. DPR-71 & DPR-62 SUPPLEMENT TO REQUEST FOR LICENSE AMENDMENT RADIOACTIVE WASTE OIL INCINERATION Gentlemen:
Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) submitted a request for license amendment for the Brunswick Steam Electric Plant (BSEP), Units 1 and 2 on. J une 23,-1987 to allow incineration of radioactive waste oil.
Based on discussions with the NRC Staff on February 15, 1989, CP&L is
. resubmitting Technical Specification Page 3/4 11-14a for both units.
The NRC requested that the wording of Footnote (i) to Table 4.11.2 1 be clarified'to state that releases from incinerated oil, as_ opposed to incinerated oil, may be discharged from the incinerator, and that Footnote (j) to Table 4.11.2-1 be clarified to state that samples of waste oil to be incinerated, as opposed to samples for incinerated oil releases, be collected from and representative of oil in liquid form.
The Company has evaluated the change and determined that the significant hazards analysis provided in the original submittal still applies.
The proposed Technical Specification pages for each unit are provided in Enclosures 1 and 2.
