' Carolina' Power & Light Company has reviewed the NRC August 18, 1989 Safety

Evaluation (SE) and believes that clarification to results of the staff review-is necessary.
Item (1) on page three (3) states that.the nitrogen pneumatic system is designed to Class 1 seismic requirements. This statement is misleading.in that the entire system is not-Class 1 seismic.' Only those. portions inside the.
-Reactor Building, including containment penetration isolation valves, are Class 11 seismic. This design information was identified in our' letter (Serial:, NLS-88-066) dated March 10, 1988.
