CONTROL ROOM HABITABILITY - PP0 POSED LCO (TAC N0. 72626)
In your letter of May 13, 1988 (JPN.88 019) ycu discussed an NRC request to revise the James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant Technical Specifications (TS) to include a Limiting Condition for Operation (LCO) for the Main Control Room Emergency Ventilation System (MCREVS). Your letter concitted to an amendment to reduce the MCREVS TS LC0 outage times from the present specification to 14 days with one filter train inoperable and three days with both trains inoperable.
The NRC has performed a preliminary review of ycur proposal and finds the concept acceptable for forming the basis of a TS amendment.
Fiaal acceptance of the LCOs will, of course, depend on the results of the formal NRC TS amendment review process.
This information has been t.onveyed to Mr. J. A. Gray of your staff who has indicated that the amendment will be submitted as soon as it can be prepared and approved by your staff. No submittal date has been set; however, if possible, we request that the amendment be submitted by Hay 1, 1989 in order to support issuance by June 1, 1989.
