SUMMARY

REPORT In accordance with 10 CFR 50.71(e), this letter provides the signed original and 10 copies of the changed pages associated with Amendment 14 to SON's UFSAR.

In accordance with NRC Generic Letter 86-10, TVA has also enclosed copies of the changed pages to SON's updated Fire Protection Report.

Amendment 14 to SON's UFSAR includes the effects of:

che.iges made to the facility or procedures as described in the UFSAR; safety evaluations performed in support of license amendments or that support conclusions that changes did not involve an unreviewed safety question; and analyses of new safety issues performed by or on behalf of SON at the Commission's request.

The updated information reflects changes between June 11, 1996, and November 4, 1997.

Ten ccmplete sets (Volumes 1 through 12) of SON's Amendment 13 to the UFSAR were submitted to you by letter dated March 25, 1998.

Following the issuance of Amendment 13, TVA discovered printing and pagination errors that occurred during the Amendment 13 reproduction process.

Correction pages for Amendment 13 are provided in.

In order to ensure these UFSAR pages are filed in their proper order, TVA recommends filing the correction pages l

In addition to the UFSAR, this letter provides the summary report of the implemented safety evaluations performed in accordance with 10 CFR 50. 59 (b) (2).

This report covers the same period from June 11, 1996, to November 4, 1997.

Several safety evaluation summaries that were implemented after November 4, 1997, have been included to address FSAR changes incorporated by Amendment 14.

TVA is also providing SQN's Commitment Summary Report.

This report summarizes docketed commitments that TVA has evaluated and revised using the NRC endorsed Nuclear Energy Institute's (NEI) " Guideline For Managing NRC Commitments," as codified in SPP-3.3, "NRC Commitment Management." The report is broken into two sections.

The first section contains commitment changes approved since SPP-3.3 was issued in January 1997 to November 4, 1997.

The second section contains commitment changes made prior to January 1997 utilizing the available NEI guidelines. provides the Updated Fire Protection Report change pages. provides the 10 CFR 50.59 Summary Report. provides the Commitment Summary Report.

provides the correction pages associated with Amendment 13, and provides the Amendment 14 UFSAR change pages.
