This refers to the Region IV/ senior utility executives meeting sponsored by NRC Region IV at the University of Texas (Arlington) on August 18, 1989. This meeting related to general matters in the topic areas discussed; there were no plant specific issues discussed at this meeting.
The subjects discussed, the agenda, and a list of attendees are described in the enclosed Meeting Summary.
It is our opinion that the meeting was beneficial to the attendees and of value to NRC in promoting better communications and a clear understanding of specific NRC regulatcry processes that affect power reactor licenses.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.

MEETING
SUMMARY
Region IV/ Senior Utility Executives On August 8,1989, NRC Region IV sponsored a meeting at the University of Texas (Arlington) of NRC managers and senior utility Executives representing each power reactor licensee in Region IV. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss general matters in five specific topic areas identified in the attached meeting agenda. Attendees at the meeting are shown on the attached attendance
- list.
There were no plant specific issues discussed during this meeting and no decisions or conclusions were reached as a result of this meeting. However, the meeting was beneficial to the attendees in better understanding the processes, roles, and responsibilities of licensees and the NRC within the topic areas discussed.
