LICENSED OPERATOR REQUALIFICATION EXAMINATIONS
~As noted in your March 27, 1989 Letter P-89106, the NRC does not plan to administer requalification examinations unless necessary to renew operator 4
licenses based on defueling needs at Fort St. Vrain (FSV) or utility operating performance dictates such a need. However, your program must continue to maintain the ability of licensed personnel to adequately protect the health and safety of the public, and NRC has a responsibility to continue to assure that such is accomplished.
Therefore, we request that you keep us informed of the changes in scope and content in the FSV licensed senior reactor operator, reactor operator, and fuel handler job task analysis and corresponding requalification training program. This can be accomplished by transmitting the changes in job task analysis, training program content, and changes in lesson plans as they are finalized. The NRC will assess the implementation of this nodified program at a later date, most likely through auditing the resulting program.
