Catawba Nuclear Station, Unit 2 Docket No. 50-414 NRC Bulletin No. 88-11 Pressurizer Surge Line Thermal Stratification Gentlemen:
Pursuant to the requirements of NRC Bulletin 88-11, Pressurizer Surge Line Thermal Stratification, the Catawba Nuclear Station Unit 2 Pressurizer Surge Line was inspected in April 1989 during the end of cycle 2 refueling outage The inspection. included a visual examination of pipe welds, exterior pipe-surfaces, rupture restraints, and all associated pipe supports. The exterior pipe surface was carefully examined at each rupture restraint location to detect any contact. No damage to the Pressurizer Surge Line was discovered as a result of the inspection.
