This refers.to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) inspection conducted by

The inspection included a review of

activities authorized for your Sequoyah facility pertaining to containment

integrated leak rate testing. At the conclusion of the inspection, the findings

were discussed with those members of your staff identified in the enclosed

Inspection Report.

Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report.

Wi thin

Unit 2 was a failed test,

10 CFR 50, Appendix J requires that when two consecutive CILRT test failures

occur, CILRTs are to be performed at each refueling outage until two consecutive

tests are successful.

Our classification of a failed CILRT does not prohibit

you from seeking relief from the requirement by submitting your justification

for an alternate corrective plan.

In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2,

Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and its enclosure
