Gentlemen:
This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Ms. V. P. Lougheed
and Mr. M. R. Merholz of this office and Mr. T. A. Alexion of the office of
Nuclear Reactor Regulatiop on July 17 through August 3, 1989 of activities at
i
Callaway Nuclear Plant authorized by NRC Operating License No. NPF-30 and to
'
the discussion of our findings with Mr. J. McGraw and others of your staff at
the conclusion of the inspection.
The purpose of this inspection was to determine if plant modifications and
commercial grade procurement programs were being conducted in accordance with
regulatory requirements. Within this scope, the inspection consisted of a
selective examination of procedures and representative records, observations,
and interviews with personnel. The results of the inspection are documented
in the enclosed copy of our inspection report.
No violations of NRC requirements were identified during the course of this
inspection.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of
this letter and the enclosed inspection report will be placed in the NRC
Public Document Room.
