Gentlemen:
In response to your request in Generic Letter 89-96 (Reference a), I hereby certify that the safety parameter display systems (SPDS) for Unit I and Unit 2 meet the requirements of NUREG-0737, Supplement
- 1. This is based on a comparison of the requirements of NUREG-0737, Supplement I with the design and operation of the systems at Calvert Cliffs.
We completed the checklist enclosed with Reference (a) and we took photographs of the SPDS. Since neither Unit was operating during the period, we could not take pictures in the control room of individual SPDS display pages during power operations.
Instead, we took pictures of Unit 2's SPDS in the Control Room while in MODE 6, refueling. We will retain the completed checklist and the photographs f.,r at least three years.
