Docket No.

50-213

Connecticut Yankee Atomic power Ctmpany

ATIN: Mr. E. J. Mroczka

Senior Vice President - Nuclear

Engineering aM Operations Group

P. O. Box 270

Hartford, Connecticut 06141

Gentlemn:

Subject: Inspection Report No. 50-213/89-08

A routine, unannounced inspection was conducted on June 14-16, 1989 by

S. Sherbini at the Haddam Neck station.- The purpose of the inspection was to

review changes in organization, personnel, or other elements of the radiological

controls g.wimu on site since the previous inspection. The inspection was also

coMucted to review preparations for the twmirg refueling outage scheduled to

start late this summer.

Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were identified. The

inspection indicated that the radiological controls prwrcuu on site continues to

show the same good standard of performance observed during recent inspections of

that s vguuu. Preparations for the outage, including job scope reviews and

reviews of job details to ensure incorporation of AIARA measures, appeared to

have received substantial attention and effort. 7he current goal for the 1989

year, includirg power operations and outage, appears to be realistic in view of

the planned work scope, ard continues the trend toward decreasing station

exposures.

Your cooperation with us is appreciated.

Sincerely,

Orignal signed Dy:
