SUMMARY

The following report highlights the operating experience of Wolf Creek Generating Station for the month of February, 1989. This report is being provided pursuant to Technical Specification 6.9.1.8.

I.

SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE Unit operated at 100 percent power until 1324 hours0.0153 days 0.368 hours 0.00219 weeks 5.03782e-4 months , February 02, 1989, when a reactor trip occurred due to a Main Steam Generator Isolation Valve closure resulting in Steam Generator Lo-Lo level from an accidental bumping of a protection circuitry cabinet containing a loose terminal board screw.

Unit entered Mode 2 - Startup at 2252 hours0.0261 days 0.626 hours 0.00372 weeks 8.56886e-4 months , February 03, 1989, and Mode 1 - Power Operation at 0544 hours0.0063 days 0.151 hours 8.994709e-4 weeks 2.06992e-4 months , February 04, 1989. Unit was at 100 percent power at 0700 hours0.0081 days 0.194 hours 0.00116 weeks 2.6635e-4 months , February 05, 1989.

At 1753 hours0.0203 days 0.487 hours 0.0029 weeks 6.670165e-4 months , February 03, 1989, maximum electrical generation was reduced 25 megawatts due to Heater Drain Pump "B" being declared inoperable from a defective mechanical seal. On February 10, 1989 at 0535 hours0.00619 days 0.149 hours 8.845899e-4 weeks 2.035675e-4 months , the Heater Drain Pump was returned to service.

Unit remained at 100 percent power through the remainder of the month.

Checked electrical scheme terminations on control circuitry cabinets of the Neutron Monitoring System (SE), Reactor Protection System (SB), Engineered Safeguards Features Actuation System (SA),

Load Shedding and Emergency Load Sequence (NF), and Miscellaneous Control Panels (RP).
