I will explain the initial conditions, which step(s) to simulate or discuss, and provide initiating cues. When you complete the task successfully, the objective for this job performance measure will be satisfied.

DURING THE JPM, ENSURE PROPER SAFETY PRECAUTIONS, FME, AND/OR RADIOLOGICAL CONCERNS AS APPLICABLE ARE FOLLOWED.

INITIAL CONDITIONS:

A Loss of All AC power has occurred on Unit 1.

INITIATING CUES:

The Unit 1 SS directs you to locally isolate Unit 1 RCP Seals per steps 8.b and 8.c of 1ECA-0.0, LOSS OF ALL SAFEGUARDS AC POWER.

ALL OPERATOR ACTIONS ARE TO BE SIMULATED UNLESS OTHERWISE DIRECTED.

Task Standards: Examinee closes the Unit 1 RCP seal injection throttle valves and CC return isolation valves.

Performance Step: 1ECA-0.0, step 8.b Critical Y RCP seal injection throttle valves:

VC-14-2 Standard: Examinee closes RCP seal injection throttle valves VC-14-1 and VC-14-2.

Evaluator Note: VC-14-1 and VC-14-2 are located in the Auxiliary Building, second floor valve gallery, as you enter the SG Blowdown Flash Tank area.

Evaluator Cue: When examinee simulates closing the valves using the remote valve actuators, then inform the examinee the valve position indicator on the remote actuator is pointing at the CLOSED mark.

Evaluator Note: Valves are located in the Auxiliary Building, first floor, in the overhead (near SI room door closure device, west of elevator). Reach rod operators are below the valves, about waist high.

Evaluator Cue: When examinee simulates closing the valves using the remote valve actuators, then inform the examinee the valve position indicator on the remote actuator is pointing at the CLOSED mark.

Attempts to close MV-32031, 1 TURB BLDG CLG WTR HDR MV, from the control room have FAILED.

The Shift Supervisor determined this is NOT AN EMERGENCY.

INITIATING CUES:

The Unit 1 Shift Supervisor directs you to perform C35 AOP2, Loss of Pumping Capacity or Supply Header Without SI, step 2 RNO a.1.a) and b), to locally close MV-32031, 1 TURB LOOP A CLG WTR HDR MV.

ALL OPERATOR ACTIONS ARE TO BE SIMULATED UNLESS OTHERWISE DIRECTED.

Evaluator Cue: When examinee has simulated placing BKR 1AB1-A4 to OFF, then inform the examinee BKR 1AB1-A4 operating switch is pointed at the OFF indication.
