-This. letter acknowledges receipt of your letter dated July 19, 1989 which' E rindicated that Arkansas Power.and Light Company (AP&L) plans to install a new alternative pumping system to supply water to the steam generators on ANO-2. In that' letter you also stated'that by early 1990 a scoping study will be completed, by late 1990 the design process will be completed, and hardware installation will be-conducted during the' eighth refueling outage scheduled for 1991.

Based on your commitment, the staff finds the proposed schedule for installation' <

to be acceptable anti considers Generic Issue 124 (Auxiliary Feedwater Reliability) to be closed for ANG-2. We appreciate'your cooperation in the resolution'of this important-issue.
