. By letter dated March 23, 1989, Georgia Power Company forwarded.the. final

- report regarding the bent rockbolts that had been ob.z ved in the Hatch.

Unit 1 torus' anchorage.

Staff review of the report indicates that it confirms'the preliminary information your representatives presented to the staff during a meeting on December 1,1988.

Following the Decenber meeting, the staff informed your representatives that the bent = rockbolts appeared to pose no safety impediment to Unit 1 restart on operation. Our review of the final report affirms the validity of this earlier

-staff reaction.

Accordingly, the staff plans to take'no further action on this matter. We.

consider the-issue closed.'
