The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the NRC plans to extend the current Systematic Assessment of Licensee Performance (SALP) evaluation period one month to August 31, 1989.
The SALP evaluation will be used as part of the determination of the readiness of Comanche Peak Unit 1 for a low power license.
The evaluation period is being extended so that the assessment may be conducted closer to the expected ready for fuel load date.
The SALP period will now be September 1, 1988, through August 31, 1989.
The SALP board will be held on September 20, 1989.
Our draft SALP report is expected to be issued in mid-October.
