SUBJECT:
Extension Request Omaha Public Power District (0 PPD) committed in Reference 2 to complete a design review on the failure position of air operated safety related valves.
The scope of this review has been expanded to include valve repositioning requirements and has resulted in a more detailed design review than originally estimated. This review is now estimated to be complete by ibvember 30, 1989.
In a telephone conversation with Mr. A. Bournia, U.S. NRC, and a member of my staff, this extension was discussed and agreement was reached on the new date.
