RESPONSE TO NRC BULLETIN 88-04

On May 5, 1988, the NRC staff issued NRC Bulletin 88-04, " Potential Safety-Related Pump Loss." The bulletin requested the evaluation of all safety-related pumps for: 1) pump-to-pumpinteractionduringminiflow.nperation that could result in dead-heading of one or more of the pumps, and 2) the-adequacy of the minimum flow by) ass lines with respect to damage resulting i

from operation and testing in t1e minimum flow mode. The bulletin'also I

requested that within 60 days of receipt of the bulletin, licensees provide a>
