Dear Mr. Deddens:

In' March 1986','NRC Region IV sponsored a meeting offsenio'r. utility executives-to' discuss'a variety'of regulatory issues. We believe the meeting was usefu'1, therefore, we propose'that another similar meeting be held in the regional l office in Arlington, Texas.

If there are issues that you.would'like.to discuss, please.let me know and I will develop a proposed agenda.

In general, the meeting is' planned to be 4 to 6 hours6.944444e-5 days <br />0.00167 hours <br />9.920635e-6 weeks <br />2.283e-6 months <br /> in length and begin in the late morning and end in ear.ly afternoon to allow travel the same day ~.

'It is my intent to cover such items as (1) SALP process in Region IV; (2) improving communication with licensee management; (3) Region IV's enforcement philosophy; (4) how to. improve' safety performance; and (5) any topics.that you or your colleagues may wish to discuss.

I would like to schedule this meeting sometime in August, as I will be out

'of the country the month of September, and I would like to he able to. finalize a schedule as 'soon as 'possible.

I would offer the.following dates, Aug 8, 15 or;16,.and ask that you advise me at your earliest convenience if you can

. attend and which dates you prefer.

In order to assure manageable and candid discussion, I would suggest that the-size of our group be limited.

Therefore, I would ask that this invitation be limited to yourself and no more than one other.
