he Master Inspection Planning System (MIPS) is an integrated part of the Shared Infomation Network (SINET) . As su d , users of the Master Inspection Planning Systan have arrace to other, related SDEI DataMaam. S e current incarnation of MIPS relies on the Carmnercial Power Unit DataMaa, the Docket Database as well as the Procedure Authority DataMaa. Without these l supporting.datak aan, the Master Inspection Planning System could not have been w s:4.ructed.

Bere are two parts to MIPS. Se first part is the MIPS planning facility.

MIPS is designed to automate the planning function by providing tools to assist in scheduling inspection work and managing manpower requirements. In addition, MIPS insures that agency inspection objectives are met by.

providing up-to-the-minute lists of Inspection Procedures and TI's and insisting that Core program Procedures and new TI's are included in an Inspection Plan. MIPS further aids Inspection Planning by au*mtically scheduling dates for procedures the occur multiple times within a planning cycle.

Another MIPS planning benefit is that MIPS provides a uniform Usi for creating Inspection Plans. Bis means that plans can be shred both inter arx1 intra regionally. Furthermore, reportirg is easily accomplished via online selection of " canned" reports.

Se second part of the Master Inspection Planning System concerns prrr* ming inspection results. Se current version of MIPS provides an interface where hours chargal to Inspection Procedures through the RITS me&anism are automatically matched against their cougrding entries in an Inspection Plan.

Additional enharm.r.gr.uts in the Inspection results arena are scheduled to be implemented in the near future.
