This letter refers to.the routine safety inspection conducted by
~
Mr. Joseph. A. Golla of this office on February 27 - March 7,1989 at Peach..
Bottom Units 2 and 3.
The inspection focused on your follow up actions related
to several Inservice and Local Leak Rate Testing open items. Mr. Golla discussed
the findings' of the inspection with Mr. George Daebeler of your staff at.the-
conclusion:of'the inspection.
Areas- examined du' ing .this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
r
Inspection Report which
inspection consisted of is enciesed with this letter. Within these areas,.the
selective examinations.of-procedures ~and representative
records, interviews with personnel,.and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope ofLthis inspection, no. violations were observed.
It appears
that your staff has effectively addressed weaknesses previously identified in
the ' inservice testing and containment leak rate testing programs.
Also, I would
like to call to your attention;the commitments made by your staff with regard-
-
to containmentuleak rate testing as' described in Section 4.13, item 3 on
pageL11 of'the enclosed report.
