Dear Mr. Frizzle:
The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No.lll to Facility Operating License No. DPR-36 for the Maine Yankee Atomic Power Station.
This amendment consists of changes to the Technical Specifications (TS) in response to your application dated February 3,1989.
This amendment changes the Moderator Temperature Coefficient (MTC) limit in Technical Specifications between the 0% and 30% power levels.
The new limit of0.5x10gm0.6x104 is a line fr delta rho per *F at 0% power to the current limit delta rho per F at 30% power. The MTC limit above 30% power is unchanged.
A copy of the Safety Evaluation is also enclosed. The notice of issuance will be included in the Commission's next regular bi-weekly Federal Register notice.
