NRC OPERATOR LICENSING REQUALIFICATION PROCESS On September 10, 1987, several utilities met with NRC to express concern with our implementation of the requirements of 10 CFR Part 55 as related to administering the requalification examination to reactor operators.

Mr. Mike B. Sellman of your staff provided specific comments on this matter to the Prairie Island project manager.

We appreciate Mr. Sellman taking this matter seriously enough to send us the Prairie Island operators' concerns in writing. Since these coments are similar to those expressed by others during the meeting, we plan to include them in our reevaluation of the operation requalification program.
