We are writing with regard to the possible restart of San Onofre's Unit 1 reactor.
It has been brought to our attention that potential safety concerns have arisen in connection with the 4
thermal shield of this unit.
discovered and there is concern over the, possibility of a obstruction of the flow of cooling water if the shield were to slip.
We would appreciate an explanation of this situation and would like to be kept informed of the NRC's ultimate decision.
