2.206 PETITION RELATED TO EMERGENCY P;ANNING FOR PERRY l

The. enclosed motion, received by the fiuclea r Regulatory Commission on November 10, 1986, from Terry J. Lodge, counsel for the' Sunflower Alliance, Inc., requested that %e Perry licensing record be reopened on emergency plan-ning. or show cause why the proposed license should not be modified or denied entirely.

The NRC petition pursuant to 10has CFRdetermined 2.206. that the motion should be considered as a The petition expressed concerns related to offsite emergency planning for Perry including the adequacy of care centers, commitment letters with school districts and the Ashtabula County Medical Center and the availability of emer-gency workers (members of the Northeast District of Ohio Association of Public School Employees, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CID) durir.g drill or actual evacuation activities -involving Perry. Also enclosed is the licensee's response to the petition dated Januar 20. 1987.

Advance copies of the petition and the licensee's response were.yprovided to your staff.

We request the assistance of FEMA in responding to the concerns raised in the petition. Based on discussion between our respective staffs, I understand that March 30,1987 has been established as a date for FEMA's response. If need additional infomation, please contact Donald J.
