'The following-report highlights the operating experience of Wolf Creek Generating Station for the month of March, 1989. This report is being provided pursuant to Technical Specification 6.9.1.8.

I.

SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE Unit operated near 100 percent power throughout the month.

At G338 hours, March 06, 1989, surveillance test showed control rods for Control Bank "C" and Shutdown Bank "A", Group 2 to be inoperable.

but trippable.

Problem was due to a' cold solder joint on an associated circuit board. At 1025 hours0.0119 days <br />0.285 hours <br />0.00169 weeks <br />3.900125e-4 months <br />, March 08, 1989 control rods were operable.

II.

MAJOR SAFETY RELATED MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES 1.

Replaced BGZC8357A - Centrifugal Charging Pump "A" to Reactor Coolant Pump Isolation Valve Controller.

2.

Replaced T-Ring, 0-Ring, and Compression Ring on ALHV033 "B"

Train Essential Service Water to Turbine Driven Feed Pump Isolation' Valve.

3.

Replaced cylinder head gaskets on PBG04 - Positive Displacement Charging Pump.

4.

Replaced fast speed starter coil on SGN01B - Containment Cooling Fan.
