04/14/89 NARRATIVE
SUMMARY
Month: March, 19r9 McGuire Unit 2 began the month of March operating at 100% full power. At 0819 on 3/03, the unit experienced a Reactor Trip when a control rod dropped into the core during a Rod Cluster Control Assembly Test. The unit returned to service at 0711 on 3/04 and returned to 100% at 0653 on 3/06 following forced power holds due to Secondary Chemistry, Low Feedwater Pump Suction pressure, Feedwater Regulating valve problems, Low Condensate Booster Pump suction pressure, and a startup related hold for Nuclear Instrumentation Calibration. The unit then operated at 100% power until 0412 on 3/14, when the Reactor tripped following a trip of the 2B Feedwater Pump Turbine. The unit returned to service at 2301 the same day, and returned to 100% power at 0402 on 3/16 following forced holds for i
Secondary Chemistry, Turbine Control System limitations, Heater Drain Pump work, f
and a startup related hold for Nuclear Instrumentation Calibration. The unit then operated for the remainder of the month without any significant reductions, l
finishing the month at 100% full power.
