10 CFR 21 Notification Gentlemen:

Please be advised that Limitorque has concluded its evaluation l of the inadvertent supply of Buchanan 724 terminal blocks as noted i in the NRC Vendor Branch Inspection Report 88-01 This evaluation i included the review of all terminal blocks supplied to the nuclear I industry and resulted in the identification of one (1) shop order where Limitorque incorrectly supplied Buchtnan 724 terminal blocks ,

in lieu of the required Buchanan 524 terminal block to:

Westinghouse Electric Corporation Nuclear Energy Systems P. O. Box 355 Pittsburgh, PA 15230.

Therefore, pursuant to the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 21 herein provided is notification of an improperly supplied basic component.

IDENTIFICATION OF BASIC COMPONENT A quantity of four (4) Buchanan 724 terminal blocks were supplied by Limitorque on November 20 , 1985 to:

l Our investigation has shown . that Westinghouse in turn supplied -

NATURE OF THE DEFECT l

1 The Buchanan 724 terminal block was inadvertently furnished with certification to Limitorque Environmental Qualification Report B0119.

EOUIPHENT EFFECTED i

These blocks were supplied to Westinghouse as'a spare parts  !

order for' installation into Limitorque SMB type actuators.  !

l LIMITOROUE CORRLOTIVE ACTION -

This discrepancy resulted from an error in order processing.

In order to prevent recurrence Limitorque has conducted: training ] l of the personnel involved to insure tlast the requirements of the procedures are followed and that no substitutions are authorized l

l without the appropriate justification.
