DIABLO CANYON 1

In order to assure continuity in the review and_ resolution of l

allegations pertaining to the design of small bore piping at Diablo

]

Canyon, the following additional actions will be taken:

1.

Overall direction of ali matters pertaining to-the revier and l

inspection efforts necessary to pursue allegations pertaining to small bore piping design at Diablo Canyon is assigned to NRR.

Mr.

James P. Knight, Assistant Director for Components and Structures Engineering, Division of Engineering, NRP., has been assigned j

responsibility for completion of this effort.

2.

All Regicnal and Headquarters personnel assigned to the review and l

l inspection activities associated with resolution of small bore piping allegations at Diablo Canyon will-report directly to Mr.

i Knight for the period of time necessary-to accomplish final l

resolution of the small bore piping allegations. The tasks assigned by Mr. Knight and the schedules set for those assignments will take priority over all other assignments.

3.

.The inspection and review effort now under way will be augmented by the addition of senior personnel from Regions I,11 and Ill. Their assignment will be reassessed on Februar 4 if the task is not completed by then.
