Areas Inspected:

Routine, unannounced inspection of the licensee's physical

security program.

The areas inspected within the physical security program

included management support, security program plan, and audits; protected and

vital area physical barriers, and detection and assessc..ent aids; compensatory

measures; and swurity training and qualifications.

Results:

Within the areas inspected, two violations were identified.

(Inadequate assessment aid and inadequate compensatory measures; see

paragraph 2.)

The NRC inspection effort focused primarily on the licensee's security program

upgrade and revisions to the physical security plan (PSP). Management has

made a commitment to install new security hardware systems.

Security personnel

training is also being upgraded to support these changes.

These changes should

improve the physical security program.
