St# MARY OF CHANGES TO SETTLEMENT MONITORING PROCEDURE

.This summary provides notification 'in accordance with' Atomic Safety and Licensing Appeal Board Decision ALAB-578, that the Virginia Electric and Power:

Company has revised-the Settlement Monitoring Surveying Periodic ~

Test i

1 Procedure,- 1-PT-115.

This -procedure is used by the contract surveyor, L

Bengston, DeBell. Elkin and Titus, Ltd. to monitor the settlement of-' Class I structures at North Anna Power Station. This procedure provides instructions

-for surveying to Second Order, Class II accuracy.

The changes made to the procedure establish the methodology for correlating the measurement obtained from the Philadelphia Rod to the Invar Stave in order to assure consistent survey readings are obtained when either rod.i s used.

The contract surveyor uses.the Philadelphia Rod to survey obstructed settlement points that cannot' be surveyed with the Invar Stave.

In addition, a Field Conditions Data Sheet Attachment was added to the test procedure in

. order to provide the surveyor with a document to note-problems or unusual conditions experienced during the survey.

Other changer to the test procedure were administrative in nature and do not affect the metr.od of surveying or the test results.
