JERSEY CENTRAL POWEit AND LIGHT COMPANY PENNSYLVANLi ELECTRIC COMPANY NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF A FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE Notice is hereby given that the Atomic Energy Commission (the Commission) has issued Facility Operating License No. DPR-50 to the Metropolitan Edison Company, Jersey Central Power and Light Company and the Pennsylvania Electric Company authorizing operation of the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 1, at steady state reactor core power levels not in excess of 2535 megawatts thermal, in accordance with the provisions of the license and the Technical Specifications. This license also contains conditions restricting power level to 480 Mut until both NOU***
containment spray additive tanks are operable. The Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 1 is a pressurized water nuclear reactor located in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania.
The Commicsion has made appropriate findings as required by the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Commission's rules and regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the license.
The application for the license complies with the standards and requirements of the Act and the Comi sion's rules and regulations.
The license is effective as of its date of issuance and shall expire on May 13, 2008.
A copy of (1) Facility Operatine License No. DPR-50, complete with Technical Specifications (Appendices "A" and "B"); (2) the report of the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards, dated August 14, 1973; (3) the Directorate of Licensing's Safety Evaluction, dated July 11, 1973; (4) the Final Safety Analysis neport and amendments thereto; (5) the

) applicant's Environmental Report dated October 1970 and revised environmental report dated December 1971 and supplements thereto; (6) the Draft Environmental Statement dated June 24, 1972; and (7) the Final Environmental Statement dated December 8,1972, are available for public inspection at the Commission's Public Document Room at 1717 H S treet, N. W., Washington, D. C. and the Government Publications Section, State Library of Pennsylvania, Box 1601 (Education Building), Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. A copy of the license and the Safety Evaluation may be obtained upon request addressed to the United States Atomic Energy Conmission, Washington, D. C. 20545, Attention: Deputy Director for Reactor Projects, Directorate of Licensing.
